Top 6 tips to drive safe in winter
With the winter season coming upon us, here are some tips to help you stay safe

Winter is upon us, many people may be anxious while driving in the winter season. Michigan is known to have cold and icy winters, here are 6 tips on how to stay safe on your winter drive.
Allow yourself extra time to get to your destination - Always leave earlier than you normally would. When driving in the winter, the roads can be extra dangerous, so don’t be in a rush to get to that final destination.
Don’t slam on the acceleration or breaks - When you are trying to accelerate, slowly ease onto the gas pedal so your tires can get enough traction to go. Don’t slam on your breaks or you might go sliding somewhere you don’t want to go.
Keep your gas tank full - In case of an emergency, such as a snowstorm, it’s important that you keep your gas tank full. If you venture out in the middle of a storm, this will be helpful in case you get stuck.
Keep emergency supplies in your car - If you go out in the middle of a storm it’s important to bring supplies such as jumper cables, water, snacks, blankets, etc. in case you get stranded or stuck.
Use antifreeze windshield wiper fluid - Make sure that your wiper fluid has antifreeze in it. If it does, then it helps clear off the ice on your windshield.
Always pay attention and be alert - Winter roads can be unpredictable, and other drivers can be unpredictable. While driving make sure you always pay attention to your surroundings and the roads in front of you. That way, you can keep you and your passengers safe.
